How Bail Bonds Work

Fort Bend County Bail Bonds

The bail bonding system is an agreement where a defendant, family member or someone else close to the defendant agrees to post money in exchange for the individual's release from jail. Bail is posted in order to secure the defendant's release from custody with the understanding that the suspect will return for their trial and all required court appearances. If the suspect does not return to court, the bail is forfeited, and the suspect may receive a new charge of failure to appear which will result in higher costs.

Why Use a Bail Bondsman

Often times the bail may be too expensive for the family to post directly with the court or jail. This is where a bail bondsman comes in. For an approximate 10% fee of the bail, the bail bond agent provides surety to the court the defendant will appear for all court appearances.

Bail Bond Process

A bail bond application is prepared and copies of driver's license, utility bill, and pay stubs will also be required. Other acceptable forms of identification include military ID, passport, W2, bank statement, and pay check. When going through a difficult time, you need some one you can trust. With over 40 years of experience and Texas offices in Fort Bend and Bexar counties, Mr. Jones Bail Bonds and YL&S Bail Bonds will “post” the bail bond which will result in the release of the defendant. Mr. Jones Bail Bonds will bond you or your loved one in Arcola, Beasley, Bellville, Katy, Fulshear, Missouri City, Needville, Richmond, Rosenberg, San Antonio, Sealy, Simonton, Stafford, and Sugar Land.

After the arrest and booking procedures are complete, we can begin the bail bond process. The jail release process may take several hours when the jail is busy or crowded. Once defendant is released from jail, he or she is required to present with release papers to Mr. Jones Bail Bonds or YL&S Bail Bonds within 24 hours to complete processing. If you are not able to come to the office, we provide concierge service and for a minimal fee, we will take the bond to the jail for you.
